Salvation Army Homes

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Neighbourhood Manager to provide a high-quality housing management service across the Devon and Cornwall region including Portsmouth and Plymouth.

Working closely with residents and partner agencies, you will be responsible for managing tenancies, resolving neighbourhood issues and supporting customers to successfully sustain their homes.

This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to people's lives while helping create safe, sustainable and vibrant communities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering an effective tenancy and neighbourhood management service.
  • Supporting customers to sustain their tenancies.
  • Investigating and resolving anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches.
  • Undertaking estate inspections and neighbourhood visits.
  • Responding to customer enquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Building positive relationships with residents and external partners.
  • Promoting community engagement and neighbourhood pride.
  • Maintaining accurate records and case management systems.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience within housing, tenancy or neighbourhood management.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Experience of managing a varied caseload independently.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to service delivery.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid role offering a balance of home-based working and regular travel within your designated region.

As a Neighbourhood Manager, you will primarily work from home while managing a portfolio of schemes and tenancies across your patch. The role requires regular travel to schemes and communities to undertake tenancy management activities, resident engagement, estate inspections, partnership meetings, property visits, and investigations.

As travel is an essential requirement of the role, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable.

This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working while maintaining a strong focus on resident engagement and visibility within our communities.

Additional Information

This role does not include line management responsibilities.

Areas of responsibility may change from time to time to support evolving business and customer needs.

Our Offer

In return, we offer a competitive and supportive benefits package, including:
  • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 31 days
  • Car allowance
  • Westfield Healthcare Cash Back Plan (including cashback for optical, dental, therapies, plus 24/7 GP access and counselling support)

  • Financial support options, including season ticket loans, emergency loans, mortgage advice and wellbeing support
  • Paid volunteering days
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Discounted private medical insurance
  • Support to learn, broaden your skills and develop your career
  • A fun and inclusive work culture where individual differences are valued and championed
Closing date: 21 September 2026 (please note we may close the vacancy early if we receive a large volume of applications)
